Typography
Bucher + Suter uses two primary typefaces and a third, fallback typeface.
Instrument Sans is our primary operational font. It is available in both static and variable versions and is installed by default on all Bucher + Suter-managed devices.
GT Planar is our premium brand typeface and is used across marketing touchpoints, including the website, presentations, campaigns, and printed materials.
Tahoma is an email-safe font used in emails or as a fallback.
Design font
GT Planar is our design font. It must be used across all marketing touchpoints, including the website, presentations, and printed materials.
Font Usage
The following visual demonstrates the recommended typographic hierarchy. It includes guidance on font sizing, weight, line height, and letter spacing for headlines, subheadlines, and body text. Reduced letter spacing is applied to headlines and subheadlines, as indicated below.
Operational font
Instrument Sans, our primary operational font, is pre-installed on all Bucher + Suter-managed machines. You can also download it using the link below.
Email-safe fonts
Tahoma should be used as the preferred email-safe font.
For HTML emails, use the following font stack to ensure consistent rendering across email clients and operating systems:
Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif
If Tahoma is unavailable, email clients will fall back to Arial, then Helvetica, and finally the default sans-serif font available on the recipient’s device.
